The Rev. Fr.
Bernard Andracchio, Pastor
We are blessed at Christ the King to have as our shepherd a man who both leads and encourages us in an active
parish life, so there is something "going on" at CTK almost every day. In
addition to daily Mass (see our Schedule of Services) we have
activities, trips and opportunities for ministry for everyone. What follows includes what
is coming up this month as well as those things happening on a regular
basis, items of note, any trips we are planning as well as fundraisers currently going on in the Parish and events coming up
within the next couple of months. You can also find information about Remembrances
and Memorials on this page.
Take a look and see what fits in with your gifts and schedule, then plan to join us as we
go forth in service to Christ our King. To see the entire month at once, go to our Calendar page.

Candidate to be Invested on June 10th (congratulations, Mike!).
We encourage you to join us for prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours (on Wednesday evenings
at 6:45 PM and Saturday mornings after 9:30 AM Mass). You can also view pictures, read a
message from the Mother Prioress, get the answers to some common questions, get the weekly
schedule of prayer for the Office and learn more about the Community by visiting our web
site: www.olscommunity.org.
EVERY WEEK
CHILDREN'S CHURCH
Sunday mornings, during 9:30 AM Mass - All children ages
3 to 12 are welcome to join us in learning to live the Bible! We have two
classes: 3 to 6 year olds and 7 to 12 year olds. Stories and activities that make God's
Word come alive are geared to each age group. Jr. Church begins after the
Liturgy of the Word, and meets year-round.
INTERCESSORY PRAYER
Sunday mornings, after 9:30 AM Mass
- Members of our Prayer Ministry are available to pray with you immediately following 9:30
AM Mass. If you can't make it to either Sunday evening or Thursday afternoon Healing
Masses, please come forward for prayer.
Sunday evenings, 6 PM - Join with us as we pray for the sick of our parish.
Also available every week in printed format are the Prayer Basket and Parish Prayer List. The Prayer Basket is a prayer list of requests
received during the preceding week, and can be found in your Sunday bulletin insert. The Parish
Prayer List is a simple listing of prayer needs received, for those both in and
outside the Parish and is available all week; copies are found on the Usher's Table at the
back of church. Contact
Sr. Mary Joseph if you have a prayer request for
either the Prayer Basket or the Parish Prayer List, or fill out a request card (available
at the back of church) and place it in the basket.
HEALING MASSES
Sundays at 6:30 PM; Thursdays at 12 noon
- "Are there any sick among you? Call for the elders of the Church to anoint
the sick and pray over them and the prayer of faith will heal the sick." James
5:14-15 Come and experience the healing power of God, alive at Christ the
King! At our Healing Mass on Sunday evenings the prayer team anoints with holy oil; on
Thursday Father anoints with a relic of S. Peregrine, patron saint of cancer patients and
we pray the Novena to S. Peregrine for victims of cancer.
BIBLE STUDY
Wednesdays, 7:00 PM - Our Wednesday night
study The Darkness and the Dawn. This study on the tragedy and triumph of
the Cross will run through Easter Sunday.
Why did it please God that His Son was brutalized? Why does a loving God allow us to hurt
so deeply? What made Jesus' death any different from thousands who died just as He did?
Join us for the answer to these and other questions regarding the tragedy and triumph of
the Cross. Come and find new meaning in the Cross and the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus
Christ. You will learn fresh perspectives on these core events of our Faith which will
help us to see beyond the darkness in our own lives to the new light of dawn - a victory
from which we will never know defeat!
This study is held during Mass every Wednesday evening during the 7
PM Mass. For more information on this fascinating study, go to our Bible Study page.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Wednesdays, 6:00 PM - Every Wednesday
evening, before Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is enthroned upon the Altar for a quiet hour
of prayer, adoration and reflection. What does one do during a Holy Hour before the
Eucharist? When asked, someone replied, "I just sit and look at Him and He looks
at me....I tell Him how much I love Him, and He tells me how much He loves me."
Eucharistic
Miracle -
The Bleeding Host
We are very blessed at Christ the King to have a
Eucharistic Miracle, and this blood-stained Host is enthroned on our Altar every week
during Adoration. If you have ever doubted the truth of transubstantiation
- the changing of the bread and wine of the Eucharist into the actual, physical Body and
Blood of Christ during the Consecration of the Mass - come and see for yourself "that
wondrous love that cannot falter, Jesus in the Host does dwell!" |

|
CHAPLET OF THE DIVINE MERCY
Wednesdays, 6:30 PM - The Chaplet is sung
during second half of the Hour of Adoration on Wednesday evenings, in the Eucharistic
Presence. We are delighted to have in our Sanctuary a beautiful statue as well as a
painting of the Divine Mercy.
ROSARY NOVENA
Saturdays, following 9:30 AM Mass
- Join us in the most powerful prayer of the Church after the Mass itself: Our Lady's
Rosary. We include a perpetual Novena to Our Lady with our Rosary every Saturday morning. If you have a prayer need
you would like us to pray for during our Novena, go to the Novena
Prayer Request page.

HELP NEEDED?
CTK FOOD CUPBOARD
Jesus said "What you do for the least of these, you do for Me." The Christ the
King Food Cupboard supplies basic (non-perishable) staples for anyone who needs them. We
have food and supermarket gift cards (for the purchase of items such as meat, milk and
bread). We are continuously gathering food items for the Cupboard - a suggested
shopping list is found in the bulletin each week; we also need gift cards from local
markets. Bring your offerings whenever you come to church and place them on the center
island in the kitchen.
If you have a need, or know of someone who does, please see Sr. Mary Joseph. You can bring
the food to them yourself or have them come to pick it up. The Cupboard is open from 1-3
PM every Friday, and after any Mass.
Please check back often to see what is coming up in the months ahead, and then plan to
join us for one or more activities!
